Kristen Wiig is among the most prominent comediennes in American show business today. She first joined The Perks, a show featured at the Empty Stage Comedy Theatre in 2000. She sound found a spot on Spike TV in the satire The Joe Schmo Show, where she played the Quack Marriage Counselor, Dr. Pat.

After The Joe Schmo Show, Kirsten Bell made her debut on Saturday Night Live in its 31st season on 2005. She was among the members of the cast who survived SNL’s layoffs, and became a full member of the show’s repertory cast in 2006. She has played the characters of Penelope, the show’s serial exaggerator, Gilly, the mischievous high school girl, and the Target Lady, who is overly obsessed with the wide range of Target Products. Her latest sketch will involve co-anchoring the SNL segment Weekend Updated alongside Seth Myers.

Aside from acting on television, Kirsten Wiig also acted in films such as Meet Bill, The Brothers Solomon, Knocked Up and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. In these films she starred alongside the SNL cast members, including Will Forte, Bill Hader, Chris Parnell, and Jason Sudeikis. Other film roles came in 2008, such as Semi-Pro, Ghost Town, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Kristen Wiig was featured in Entertainment Weekly’s list of 15 Great Performances as of December 2008, based on her impersonations on SNL. She was once again featured in April 2009 as one of the 25 Funniest Women in Hollywood in Entertainment Weekly.

In February 2009, Kristen Wiig made a guest appearance on Flight of the Conchords as Brahbrah, the owner of an epileptic dog that went missing.

Kristen Wiig holds the record of appearing in more sketches than any other member of SNL for Season 34, having done 124 sketches. She is also one of the funniest members of the show, and is the only female regular cast member of SNL in Season 34. She was nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress last July 16, 2009.
